Use Your Judgement

One of the greatest things about golf is there is no judge judging your performance.  It’s just you, the ball and your ability to get the ball into the hole in the least amount of strokes.

Yet, there are so many people who judge themselves harshly for not performing.  And even worse, there judgment makes them feel bad instead of motivating them to play better.

In some ways and during certain times, you need to judge how you play because that’s how you get better. This is Not about judging your self harshly to feel bad.  This is about judging what you do and how you play to get better.  It’s your better judgment that determines whether or not to continue what you’re doing or change it up so you play your best.

So here’s some ideas:

  1. If you’re doing something new or continuing something you started, whether in your game or business (and you may consider business a game) ask your self, is this going into the direction I want it to? Make a realistic honest judgement of your own performance.

  2. Do what you need to do based on your answer to step 1.

  3. Make sure you spend time to celebrate feeling good about what you just accomplished as small or big as it is.  The more you celebrate, the more you feel good, the more good you want to feel and do more.

By using your own judgment as your own motivation, you own your game. This is not about harsh judgment... this is about coaching your self productively.  It takes time to pay attention to what needs to change and what needs to stay the same.  Either way, when you judge your own performance courageously and honestly, it can only go in the right  direction.

With sincere interest I building your best life ever,
